FG Declares Friday, Monday Public Dolidays

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, April 14, and Monday 17, as public holidays to mark the 2017 Easter celebration

The minister of interior Abdulrahman Dambazzau made the declaration on Wednesday.

He said the holiday is to enable Christians mark the Easter celebration.

He also encouraged Nigerian Christians to abide by the tenets of the benefits of the season during this period and beyond.

He called on Christians to extend the spiritual benefits of Easter among all Nigerians.

Listing the benefits as love, peace, justice, sacrifice and kindness, the minister said, these will contribute to the daily living, unity and peace co-existence of Nigerians.

The Minister further wished all Nigerians a Happy Easter celebration.

Easter is celebrated by Christians all over the world to mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
